Who we are

Road & Motor (roadandmotor.com) is an editorial publication. For data protection purposes the publisher is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Entity, domicile and representative details are being confirmed and will be stated here before launch.

What we collect

This website is designed to collect as little personal data as reasonably possible. At launch:

• Consent choice. When you respond to the cookie banner, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (key rm-consent-v1) so we do not ask again. This is strictly necessary storage.
• Contact by email. If you write to one of our published email addresses, we receive your message and address in order to respond. We do not add you to any marketing list.
• Form submissions. If you use one of our contact forms (contact, suggestions, corrections, advertising or sponsorship), the details you provide are sent to our form processor (Formspree) and delivered to us so we can respond. We do not add you to any marketing list.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider processes standard web server logs (IP address, requested page, time) for security and operational purposes.

We do not operate user accounts, comments, or newsletter signup at launch, and we load no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or social tracking scripts.

Purposes and legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we process data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure publication (server logs), necessity to respond to correspondence you initiate (email), and consent where you grant it (optional cookie categories, currently unused).

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with processors strictly necessary to operate the site (hosting provider, form processor), under appropriate agreements.

International transfers

Where data is processed outside your jurisdiction, appropriate safeguards are applied as required by law.

Retention

Server logs are retained for the short period our host requires for security. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle it. Consent records persist in your browser until you clear them.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (EU/EEA, UK, California, Switzerland and others), you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, as well as rights relating to the sale or sharing of personal information and to non-discrimination for exercising them. Global Privacy Control

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser sends a GPC signal and you have not yet set a cookie preference, we treat it as a rejection of all optional categories (analytics, functional, advertising) and we will not show the consent banner. You can change or withdraw this at any time with the Cookie Settings button in the footer. We also honour GPC as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information, to the extent such processing occurs.

Children

This publication is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
