Road & Motor aims to make its journalism accessible to every reader. We design and build to WCAG 2.2 AA practices.

What we do

• Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure on every page.
• Full keyboard navigation, visible focus states and a skip-to-content link.
• Descriptive alternative text for editorial imagery, with credit lines kept separate from alt text.
• Colour contrast that meets AA for body text.
• Accessible forms with labels: every field is labelled, controls are keyboard-operable, and success and failure messages are announced to assistive technology.
• Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your system requests it.
• Responsive typography and layouts designed deliberately for mobile, not merely scaled down.

What we do not claim

We do not claim third-party certification. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, and we welcome reports of barriers.
